We ordered the Egusi with plantain fufu. The cost of the meal was $20. The fried fish was tasteful and a good combo with the egusi. The egusi had all tof he flavors of a nigerian stew, the difference, it was more of a broth based stew. Regardless of our personal preference of consistency, it was filled with the familiar flavors of Egusi stew. The plantain fufu was a great starch for the meal.
The amount of food you receive for the price you pay, is well worth it. If you are missing the flavors a of a good african stew, this location will satisfy those cravings. Its take out only. There is an option for stew only without a starch component, like fufu for $16.
There's a saying you don't know what you have until you lose it. Trinity Diner is an amazing gem that truly deserves recognition and praise for their food, portion sizes, and general service. I recently went to an African restaurant in the Columbus area that serves really small sizes of average food for exorbitant prices and when I rightfully complained in what I thought was a fair review I essentially got abused and insulted. I'm not going to dwell anymore on it because I don't want to bring negativity into your excellent review but I will include a measured picture ( so you can estimate the size) of the empty plate that was served in this restaurant in Columbus in comparison to a measured picture of your plate as an indication of the difference in portion sizes. You can't imagine and don't want to imagine the difference in taste or price. I am a returning customer and and I'm ashamed to say it's taken me this long to properly appreciate your food. God bless your business.
I'm not from Ghana but I've always loved their food. Other places will package their food in such a way that assumes you're from Ghana. Trinity Diner is different.
They separate all the different parts of the meal for you in case there might be some aspects of the meal that are too spicy or not familiar to you and I really appreciated that! It might seem like a small thing but to me it made my experience very different. Their portions are also VERY generous for the affordable price you pay.
If you're in the area, you should really try their food
The service is good. The food taste great. The prices are reasonable. I recommend it for a good meal. The specialty is Ghana cuisine . Yum!😋
Very nice customer service.
The okro stew has mackerel in it. It is delicious. The banku with tilapia is also good. Well spiced
The banku is large enough to make you full.
Clean atmosphere. Professional and Respectful Workers. I wanted the Egusi so bad! 😩 it wasn’t ready when I wanted it, but they continued to keep me up to date on the progress and notified me of when it was ready with my 2 portions sit aside 😍🥰😃 it was well worth the wait! Large portions, hot fresh and delicious! Thank you!😘I will continue to come back… I even shared it with a few friends. I put theirs in Tupperware containers. They loved it too!
A few friends and I, after visiting the Ark Encounter in Kentucky, decided to find something African since we didn’t want to eat fries and burgers. We chanced on Trinity Diner (online) which was an hour away from us but on our way back to Windsor, Ontario. We took it up to explore this place since it was our only option. We never regretted. The fufu and goat light soup was amazing. The peanut butter soup the same. A couple others got fried rice, waakye and jollof rice and they all had good things to say. Their meals are finger licking.
They are moderately priced as well.
The only regret, we couldn’t eat inside bcos it’s only a takeout service so we had to ENJOY our meals in our cars.
If I should ever pass that road again, I’m definitely making a stop at Trinity Diner.
They were closed for a while and I tried other food place but both can beat trinity. I am loyal for your food 🥰. I drive like 35min to them so I always make sure to get back up for next day chops.
